
Pair of Bobcats Earn Silver & Bronze Medals, Lead Ohio on the Final Day of MAC Outdoor Championships

MUNCIE, Ind. – A pair of mid-distance runners led Ohio women's track and field on the final day of the 2026 Mid-American Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, May 16.
Ohio's medalists included junior Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) and senior Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio). Greenwell took home a silver medal in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:21.37. In her final conference meet, Besett earned a bronze medal in the women's 800m with a time of 2:08.75. Greenwell also earned a podium finish in the 800m, placing fifth with a time of 2:09.62.
Freshman Alyvia Mentlow was a standout in the sprints for Ohio. Mentlow competed in the women's 100m and 200m, earning podium finishes in both events. In the 100m, she placed eighth with a personal-best time of 11.75. Mentlow followed up her performance with another PR in the 200m, placing fifth with a time of 23.66. The freshman's 100m and 200m are the eighth and second fastest in program history, respectively.
Ohio earned podium finishes in three more sprints/hurdles events. Sophomore Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio) recorded a seventh-place time of 1:00.57 in the women's 400m hurdles. Junior Jada Irwin (Fairfield, Ohio) took home eighth place in the women's 400m with a time of 55.20. The 4x100m relay team, comprised of freshmen Alyvia Mentlow, Sydney Huckstep, Irwin and junior Arissa Leo (Washington, D.C.), broke the school record, previously place in 1999, with a fifth-place time of 46.08.
Ohio concluded the meet with two podium finishers in the women's 5,000 meters. Senior Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) placed sixth overall with a time of 16:33.22. Graduate student Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) capped off her final conference meet with a seventh-place time of 16:35.21.
