WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded a successful day one of the Wake Forest Invitational on Thursday, April 16.
Senior
Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio) was Ohio's top performer of the day. Besett won her section of the women's 800m open with a personal-best time of 2:08.32. Besett's time is the third-fastest outdoor 800m time in program history.
Junior
Elinor Shuttleworth (Beavercreek, Ohio) placed third in her section of the women's 800m open with a PR of 2:14.71. Senior
Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) earned a fourth-place finish in section six with a PR of 2:10.66. Sophomore
Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) placed fourth in section seven with a career-best time of 2:10.41.
Freshman
Aubree Beery (Lancaster, Ohio) kicked off the meet for Ohio, competing in the women's hammer throw. Beery placed seventh with a personal-best mark of 53.29 meters (174-10).
Sophomore
Eva Hensley (Cincinnati, Ohio) won her section of the women's 3,000m steeplechase with a PR of 10:53.40.
The Bobcats concluded the day with the women's 10,000 meters. Graduate student
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) took home sixth place with a time of 34:22.75.
The Bobcats will be back in action on Friday, April 17 for day two of the Wake Forest Invitational.
