ATHENS, Ohio –
Danny Langsdorf has been named the Ohio football program's wide receivers coach, as announced by Head Coach John Hauser on Monday (March 16).

"I am very excited to welcome Danny and his family to Athens. Danny's experience complements our offensive staff and players well," Hauser said "Danny brings with him decades of proven success mentoring and developing high-caliber players at the highest levels of college football as well as the NFL. He is a great fit for our staff and players."

Langsdorf comes to Ohio by way of Oregon State, where he was the senior offensive analyst for the 2025 season. This marked his second stint with the Beavers, previously serving as their offensive coordinator from 2005-13. Notably, Langsdorf was the play caller for the Beavers' last five games in 2025.

"I am excited to be at Ohio University, a place with such a strong winning tradition," Langsdorf said. "I look forward to working with Coach Hauser and his staff, and helping the Bobcat receivers continue to improve and build another winning season."

From 2022-24, Langsdorf served as Temple's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In 2022, Langsdorf oversaw true freshman starting quarterback E.J. Warner, who registered one of the best campaigns in Temple history. Warner had a record-breaking season, setting the single-game passing record for yards (527) and completions (45), while throwing for a career-high five touchdowns against East Carolina in the season finale. He became the first quarterback in school history to throw for over 500 yards in a game, the first to post two 400-yard games in a season, and the first to post three 300-yard games in one season.

The ECU performance came just two weeks after Warner set the record for passing yards (486) and completions (42) in a shootout at Houston. At the end of his first season, Warner owned many Temple single-season records. His 3,028 passing yards are the most by a freshman in Temple history, ranking second for most by any quarterback in a single season. Warner is in sole possession of first place on the all-time single-season completions record (278). He was also the only quarterback in the FBS to throw for over 450 yards in a game multiple times in 2022. Warner became the first Temple player to win AAC Rookie of the Year since its inception in 2013.

Prior to his time at Temple, Langsdorf spent two seasons at Colorado. In 2021, the Buffaloes led the Pac-12 in red zone offense, ranking third in the country.

Langsdorf spent the 2019 season in similar tasks for Fresno State after serving as an offensive analyst in 2018 at Oregon.

From 2015-17, Langsdorf was Nebraska's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Notably, he coached under Mike Riley, who was at the helm of Oregon State during Langsdorf's first tour of duty with the Beavers. He had a one-year gap between runs as Riley's offensive coordinator, serving as the quarterbacks coach with the NFL's New York Giants in 2014. Following a 27-interception season in 2013, Eli Manning improved significantly in 2014 under Langsdorf, finishing with a 63.1 completion rate and 30 touchdowns.

During Langsdorf's first stint at Oregon State (2005-13), Langsdorf coached three of the top quarterbacks by passing yardage during his offensive coordinator tenure, including Sean Mannion, Sean Canfield and Matt Moore. Langdorf's offenses frequently broke passing records, with Mannion becoming the school's all-time leading passer during his era. Langsdorf's offenses consistently produced, claiming eight of the top 12 OSU season performances in total offense under his guidance. The 2013 Beavers set a single-season record with 6,071 total yards – 467 on average – with 372.6 yards per game through the air. NFL veteran Brandin Cooks won the 2013 Biletnikoff Award with Langsdorf as offensive coordinator.

Langsdorf worked with offensive quality control for the New Orleans Saints from 2002-04, joining the NFL club after three seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League from 1999-2001. He was OC, quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach during his tenure.

Langsdorf was a quarterback for Boise State from 1991-93 and Linfield from 1994-95. He was a two-year starter at Linfield, earning All-Conference honors while passing for 2,724 yards and 28 touchdowns in 17 games. Linfield was 14-3 in his 17 games as a starter.

Langsdorf and his wife, Michele, have two children, Dawsen and Carter.
