ATHENS, Ohio –
The Ohio football program added to its 2026 non-conference slate and is set to host the Jacksonville State Gamecocks for the first game at Frank Solich Field at Peden Stadium of the season on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The Bobcats and the Gamecocks last crossed paths in Orlando, Fla., at the 2024 StaffDNA Cure Bowl. With a 30-27 victory, Ohio clinched its first 11-win season and the program's sixth-straight bowl victory, becoming the first Mid-American Conference program to win six-straight bowl games. The game can also be remembered by multiple individual milestones as well: wide receiver Coleman Owen became the Bobcats' all-time single-season receiving yards leader and Parker Navarro (Tempe, Ariz.) became the first quarterback in program history to record over 2,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in the same season.

Ohio has won its last four home openers, highlighted by a 17-10 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers (Sept. 6, 2025). Notably, the Bobcats opened the 2024 season with a 27-20 victory over the South Alabama Jaguars, who they will face in Mobile, Ala., on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026.

The Bobcats are set to open the 2026 season on the road, taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, Sept. 5. Ohio will round out its 2026 non-conference slate on Saturday, Sept. 26, when it hosts the Stonehill Skyhawks at Frank Solich Field. Television platforms, and game times, will be announced at a later date on OhioBobcats.com and across all social media platforms.

Current season ticket holders can renew their tickets and parking here. New season tickets will be available for purchase in early May.
