Ohio Men's Basketball Set to Host Toledo for Senior Night on Saturday

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team (15-13, 9-6 MAC) is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when the Bobcats return to Athens on Saturday, Feb. 28 when Ohio hosts Toledo (15-13, 9-6 MAC) for Senior Night. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. ET inside the Convocation Center and can be seen on ESPN+ where Marty Bannister, Rob Cornelius and Gabe Genovesi will have the call. It's a white out in the Convo and the first 500 students will get a free retro Convo logo t-shirt courtesy of Prokos Rental and the Athens Central Hotel. 

The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield, presented by Holzer Health System. Jason Toy begins his second season on the mic for the Bobcats and will be joined by veteran college basketball analyst Dave Cecutti. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station net- work's flagship and can be heard on the Varsity Network App. 

TIP-OFF
- Saturday will be Senior Night for the Bobcats. Prior to the start of the game, the Bobcats will honor seniors Dior Conners, Jackson Paveletzke, Aidan Hadaway, Jalen Breath and Ajay Sheldon.

- Redshirt junior forward Javan Simmons recorded a career-high 24 points and grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds on Jan. 31 in Ohio's win at Buffalo.
- In the Bobcats game at Kent State on Jan. 27, Ohio forced the Flashes to turn over the ball 20 times, recording 13 steals in the process.
- Freshman guard JJ Kelly finished the game against NIU with a career-high 17 points and nine rebounds.

SCOUTING TOLEDO
Toledo is currently 15-13 overall and 9-6 in MAC play. Toledo is coming off a 79-69 home win over Northern Illinois on Tuesday. 

Overall, Toledo averages 81.2 points per game, while shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from three and 76.6 percent from the line. Meanwhile, opponents are averaging 77.2 points per game, while shooting 46.9 percent from the field, 34.4 percent from three and 70.7 percent from the line. 

Toledo is averaging 33.9 rebounds, 16.0 assists, 7.6 steals and 3.1 blocks a game, while forcing opponents to turn the ball over an average of 12.6 times a game, scoring 15.0 points off them. Toledo opponents are averaging 35.2 rebounds, 15.1 assists, 6.1 steals and 3.5 blocks a game, while forcing 10.4 turnovers a contest, scoring 12.6 points off them. 

Leading Toledo is Sonny Wilson with 17.2 points and 4.6 assists a game, while shooting 49.5 percent from the field. Leroy Blyden, Jr. adds 15.7 points a game and 3.7 rebounds, while shooting 43.9 percent from the field, 41.0 percent from three and 85.0 percent from the line, while Sean Craig averages 12.0 points and 7.4 rebounds a contest.

Ohio is 15-13 overall and 9-6 in MAC play and are coming off a 74-66 win at NIU on Feb. 21. 

Ohio is averaging 77.1 points a game, while shooting 46.6 percent from the field, 30.9 percent from three and 70.0 percent from the line. The Bobcats also add 33.6 rebounds a game, while dishing out 13.6 assists and recording 6.5 steals a contest. Ohio is also forcing opponents to turn the ball over 12.4 times a game, scoring on average 14.4 points off them. 

Meanwhile, Ohio opponents are averaging 76.6 points a game, while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three and 72.1 percent from the line. Opponents are averaging 35.6 rebounds, 13.2 assists and 6.0 steals a game, while forcing Ohio to turn the ball over an average of 11.2 times a game, while scoring on average 11.8 points off them. 

Individually, Ohio is led by senior guard Jackson Paveletzke with 16.7 points and 5.3 assists a game, while shooting 48.8 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three. Senior forward Aidan Hadaway averages 14.0 points and a team-leading 7.4 rebounds a game, while shooting 48.5 percent from the field, while redshirt junior froward Javan Simmons adds 14.1 points and 5.4 rebounds, while shooting 52.8 percent from the field.

Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke added 20 points and six assists, while going 8-of-17 from the field. Senior forward Aidan Hadaway finished the game with 16 points and four boards, while redshirt freshman Jesse Burris added 10 points off the bench.  

OHIO IN THE MAC
Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke is currently eighth in the conference in scoring (16.7), third in assists (5.3) and first in minutes (36.3). 

Senior forward Aidan Hadaway is sixth in the league in rebounding (7.4).

Senior guard Ajay Sheldon is seventh in the MAC in steals (1.5).

The Bobcats are currently ranked 216 in the latest NET rankings, with Toledo ranked at 159

Miami leads the conference in NET this week at 48. 

BOBCATS IN THE NCAA
Senior guard Jackson Paveletzke is currently 21st in the nation in minutes per game, 58th in assists, 75th in free throws, 86th in free throw attempts and 45th in assists per game. 

Redshirt junior forward Javan Simmons is 78th in the nation in free throw attempts. 

Senior forward Aidan Hadaway is 79th in rebounds.
