Ohio Men’s Basketball Adds Former Alexander Standout, IU Indy Transfer Kyler D’Augustino to the Roster

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's basketball team has added IU Indy transfer and Albany, Ohio native Kyler D'Augustino to the roster for the 2026-27 season, head coach Jeff Boals announced today (April 14). D'Augustino will have one year of eligibility remaining. 

"Kyler grew up a Bobcat, and it is great to bring him home," Boals said. "He has gotten better every year he's played. He's a tough guard who can score in multiple ways. Kyler will bring a big following to the Convo." 

The 6-1 guard comes back to Southeast Ohio after spending one season at IU Indy where he averaged a team-high 18.5 points per game while also leading the team in minutes played (32.4 mpg) and free throws made (69). He ranked among the Horizon League's top 10 in four categories: scoring (3rd; 18.5 ppg), field goal percentage (6th; .531), minutes (7th; 32.4 mpg) and assist-to-turnover ratio (10th; 1.82 a/to). He scored in double-digits in 26 of his 30 games, including 16 games of 20-or-more and had a season-high 31 points and five assists against Wright State on Jan. 4 and had 28 points and six assists in a home win over Robert Morris on Jan. 15, He was named Third Team All-Horizon League and was named to IU Indy's Academic Advisor's List during the fall semester.

Prior to his time in Indianapolis, D'Augustino spent two years at DII West Liberty. In his two years at West Liberty, D'Augustino averaged 13.3 points a game, while shooting 48.6 percent from the field, 25.2 percent from three and 78.6 percent from the line, while dishing out 114 assists and grabbing 89 steals. During his sophomore year at West Liberty, D'Augustino was named First Team D2CCA All-Atlantic Region and First Team All-Mountain East Conference (MEC). He also helped West Liberty to a 30-5 record and an NCAA Division II Elite Eight finish. During his freshman year D'Augustino was the Mountain East Conference (MEC) Freshman of the Year and was named to the MEC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. 

D'Augustino played high school basketball locally for Alexander where he was First-team All-Ohio Division II. He ranked among the leading scorers in the state at 27.9 points per game his senior year and was the leading scorer and Team MVP for victorious South squad in Ohio North-South All-Star Game.
