
Ohio Women's Track & Field Concludes Competition at the Al Campbell Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – The Ohio women's track & field team concluded competition at Akron's Al Campbell Invitational on Friday, Jan. 17.
Ohio's top performers of the day were from its mid distance group. Junior Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) placed third in the women's 800m with a time of 2:15.89. Senior Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Mich.) placed fourth in the women's mile with a personal-best time of 5:08.23.
Sophomore Eliza Streit (Plain City, Ohio) also competed in the women's mile, finishing ninth with a time of 5:19.21.
Junior Rhiea Gordon (Youngstown, Ohio) and freshman Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio) competed in the preliminaries of the 60m and 60m hurdles. Gordon finished 11th in the 60m preliminaries with a PR of 7.87. Kincaid finished 11th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.71.
In the women's 3,000 meters, junior Morgan Roth (Brunswick, Ohio) placed sixth with a time of 10:32.02. Freshman Sophie Lane (Hilliard, Ohio) placed ninth with a personal-best time of 10:43.63.
Junior Ashley Long (Hilliard, Ohio) ran a PR of 1:01.33 and finished 11th in the women's 400m. Freshman Elisabeth Franczyk (Washington, Pa.) also finished 17th in the event (1:02.1)
Ohio had two groups race in the women's 4x400m relay. Francyzk, sophomore Jordyn Baxter (Atlanta, Ga.), sophomore Jael Sykes (Hatfield, Pa.) and senior Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.) placed sixth with a time of 4:07.75. Long, freshman Alex Kessen (Delphos, Ohio), Kincaid and Gordon placed right behind the first group in seventh place with a time of 4:08.14.
Several Bobcats competed in the field events, specifically the jumps and throws.
Ohio had three athletes place in the top 20 of the women's long jump. Freshman Kami Ayoup (Copley, Ohio) took home 14th place (4.87m/15-11.75), Kessen finished 16th (4.77m/15-7.75) and Baxter came in 18th place (4.77m/15-7.75).
Senior Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) competed for Ohio in both the women's shot put and weight throw. Ryan placed ninth in the shot put (12.22m/40-1.25) and finished 18th in the weight throw (12.67m/41-7). Freshman Kiyah Baker (Troy, Ohio) finished 14th in the shot put with a PR of 11.13m (36-6.25). Freshman Ashley Cornathan (Hilliard, Ohio) also competed in the weight throw, finishing in 19th place (12.60m/41-4.25).
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Crossroads of America Invitational on Friday, Jan. 24.
