Ohio Women's Track & Field Concludes the Clark Wood Invite with Multiple Personal Best Performances

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Graduate student Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) led the Ohio women's track and field team on the final day of competition at the Clark Wood Invitational. Weaver placed third in the 3000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 10:42.88 and was one of three runner to break the stadium record.

Junior Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.) qualified for the women's 100m finals with a ninth-place finish and PR of 11.79 in the preliminaries. Booker placed eighth overall with a time of 11.92 in the finals.

Freshman Ella Baker (Amherst, Ohio) also ran a new PR of 56.42 and finished in 11^th place in the women's 400m.

Freshman Gracie Smith (Grove City, Ohio) represented Ohio in the women's 100m hurdle preliminaries. Smith recorded a personal-best time of 15.02 in the event.

Sophomores Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) and Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) placed in the top 10 of the women's 1500m. Martin placed seventh (4:32.86) and Doughman followed behind in eighth place (4:35.03, PR).

Three Bobcats performed well for Ohio in the field events. Freshman Saydee Resnik (Greensburg, Pa.) and graduate student Kassidy Betzing (Pomeroy, Ohio) placed fifth and sixth in the women's javelin. Resnik threw a distance of 35.56m (116-8) and Betzing recorded a mark of 34.28m (112-5).

Junior Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) placed seventh in the women's shot put with a personal-best mark of 42.79 meters (140-4).

The Bobcats will be back in action at the WVU Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 4.
