
Ohio Track & Field Concludes Competition at the WVU Last Chance Meet

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Ohio women's track and field team concluded competition at the WVU Last Chance Meet on Saturday, May 4.
Juniors Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) and Jasmine Correa (Holland, Mich.) competed in several field events for Ohio. Ryan placed second in the women's shot put (12.30m/40-4.25) and fifth in the discus (36.01m/118-2). Correa finished 10th in the women's hammer throw (35.84m/117-7) and placed seventh in the discus (30.44m/99-10).
Freshmen Elinor Shuttleworth (Beavercreek, Ohio) won the women's 400m with a time of 58.62 while Jada Irwin (Hamilton, Ohio) placed third with a time of 59.20.
Sophomore Rhiea Gordon (Youngstown, Ohio) and freshman Jael Sykes (Hatfield, Pa.) both ran personal-best times in the women's 100m. Gordon won the event with a PR of 12.18 and Sykes followed behind in second place with a PR of 12.39.
In the women's twilight 800m, freshman Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) placed sixth with a time of 2:13.43 and sophomore Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio) finished 10th with a time of 2:15.53.
Sophomores Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) and Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) earned first and second place finishes in the women's twilight 1500m. Doughman recorded a time of 4:39.34 and Martin ran a time of 4:43.21.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the MAC Outdoor Championships on Thursday, May 9 in Dekalb, Ill.
