Ohio Women's Track & Field Concludes Competition at the Jesse Owens Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio women's track and field team concluded competition at the Jesse Owens Classic on Saturday, April 20. The team had a couple of athletes record new personal records in their respective events.

Senior Kenna Loveless (Tallmadge, Ohio) led the Bobcats with a fourth place and career-best time of 11:13.62 in the women's 3000m steeplechase.

Freshman Gracie Smith (Grove City, Ohio) represented Ohio in the women's 100m hurdle preliminaries, recording a personal-best time of 15.19.

Three Bobcats raced in the women's 800m for Ohio. Freshman Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) placed seventh (2:15.18), sophomores Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) came in eighth (2:15.30) and Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio) finished 10^th (2:15.47) in the event.

The women's 4x100m relay team, comprised of junior Taja Booker (Simpsonville, S.C.), graduate student Taniah Stephens (Eerie, Pa.), sophomore Rhiea Gordon (Youngstown, Ohio) and freshman Ella Baker (Amherst, Ohio), finished ninth with a time of 47.54.

In the field events, junior Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) and senior Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio) competed in the women's shot put and discus. Ryan finished 12^th in the shot put (12.86m/42-2.25) and Baith placed ninth in the discus (43.34m/142-2).

The Bobcats will be back in action at the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 25.
