Men’s Basketball Adds Iowa State Transfer Jackson Paveletzke

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio men's basketball team has added Iowa State transfer guard Jackson Paveletzke to the roster for the 2024-25 season, head coach Jeff Boals announced today (April 22).
"We are really excited to add Jackson to our Ohio basketball family," Boals said. "He fills a need for us and will step in and make an immediate impact. We have had some great point guards in my five years at Ohio, and Jackson will continue that tradition."
Paveletzke, a 6-2 guard, comes to the Bobcats as a junior with two years of eligibility.
Last season, the Kimberly, Wis. native played at Iowa State, seeing action in 33 games, averaging 3.4 points in 10.5 minutes of action a contest. He shot .41.3 percent from the field, 40 percent from three and .750 from the line.
Prior to his time in Ames, Paveletzke began his career at Wofford where he was named the Southern Conference Freshman of the year. Paveletzke played and started in all 33 games and was the second-highest scorer on the Terriers with 15.1 points per game. Paveletzke also finished with double-digit points in the Terriers last 14 games and led the Terriers in assists with 3.7 per game. He shot an impressive 49.4 percent from the field and 84.2 percent from the free throw line and shot 39.3 percent from the 3-point line. Paveletzke scored a career-high of 25 points against Furman and played a career-high 44 minutes against Western Carolina. Paveletzke also earned and invite to USA Basketball U19 Training Camp.
Prior to his time at Wofford, Paveletzke played at Kimberly High School and led team to a regional championship as a senior while averaging 30 points, 6.1 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. He scored a single-game high of 50 points his senior year (single-game scoring record) and was state runner-up junior year. He was a two-time FVA Conference Player of the Year, a two-time All-Area Player of the Year, two-time WBCA First Team All-State and is the all-time leading scorer at Kimberly High School. He was high honor student in high school and volunteered at high school basketball camps. Paveletzke played on the Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) AAU circuit with Phenom University.
Paveletzke is the son of John and Julie Paveletzke and has two sisters, Ella and Olivia.
