NORTON, Ohio – The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams concluded the season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 15. The women's team placed seventh overall with 205 points and the men's finished in 16
th place with 483 points.
Once again, junior
Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) was Ohio's top finisher overall and in the women's 6k race. Boussedra placed 26
th with a significant personal-best time of 20:16.7.
Junior
Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) was the second Bobcat to cross the finish line in the women's 6k race. Mason recorded a PR of 20:26.8 and placed 31
st overall. Ohio's next three finishers all ran personal best times in the 6k. Senior
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) placed 34
th (20:29.3, PR), junior
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) came in 53
rd place (20:44.8, PR) and freshman
Kaitlyn Stewart finished in 61
st place (20:51.1, PR).
Sophomore
Eliza Streit (Plain City, Ohio) and senior
Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Mich.) were Ohio's final two finishers. Streit finished in 134
th place (21:59.3) and Liederbach finished in 163
rd place (22:31.8).
Sophomore
Andrew Bracken (Westerville, Ohio) was the top finisher for Ohio in the men's 10k race. Bracken placed 74
th with a personal-best time of 30:57.5. Junior
Franklin Angelos (Parkersburg, W. Va.) followed behind Bracken in 86
th place and ran a PR of 31:17.5.
Sophomore
Nick Kennedy (Hurricane, W. Va.) finished in 110
th place (31:47.9, PR) followed by juniors
Sam Beeler (Cincinnati, Ohio) in 113
th place (31:49.0) and
Rocco DeVincent (Morgantown, W. Va.) in 127
th place (32:07.1, PR).
Ohio's final two finishers in the men's 10k race were senior
Jake Ethridge (Lewis Center, Ohio) and sophomore
Charlie Slates (Gahanna, Ohio). Ethridge finished in 146
th place (32:25.8, PR) and Slates finished in 163
rd place (32.49.1).
