ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio field hockey team (5-10, 2-5 Mid-American Conference) fell 2-1 to Ball State (4-11, 3-4 MAC) in overtime Friday afternoon in Muncie, Indiana.
Ohio jumped out to an early lead after freshman midfielder Marie De Grande (Groot-Bijgaarden, Belgium) scored her second goal of the season 45 seconds into the first period.
The defense stayed tough and limited Ball State to a mere nine shots, with graduate student goalie

The Cardinals tied the game in the fourth quarter on a last-minute goal by Emma van Hal, and ultimately took the win on an overtime goal by Jenna Wyckoff.
