PEORIA, Ill. – The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams had multiple athletes finish with personal-best performances at the Bradley Pink Invitational on Friday, Oct. 18 in Peoria, Ill. Both teams represented Ohio well with the women placing fifth out of 32 teams and the men finishing 12
th out of 29 teams.
Ohio's top performers of the day were junior
Leila Boussedra (Worthington, Ohio) and sophomore
Andrew Bracken (Westerville, Ohio). Boussedra placed 15
th out of 259 runners in the women's red 6k race with a time of 20:42.93. Bracken placed 24
th out of 265 runners in the men's red 8k race with a personal-best time of 24:19.32.
The women's race featured three other Bobcats in the top 50 finishers. Senior
Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) took home 27
th place with a personal-best time of 21:04.46. Junior
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) followed behind in 38
th place (21:11.99) and freshman
Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) placed 45
th with a PR of 21:18.86. Junior
Alyssa Mason (Dublin, Ohio) rounded out the top 100 finishers, finishing 74
th with a time of 21:40.96. Sophomore
Eliza Streit (Plain City, Ohio) also made an impressive improvement on her PR, finished 103
rd with a time of 21:57.93.
In the men's race, junior
Franklin Angelos (Parkersburg, W. Va.) was the second Bobcat to cross the finish line. Angelos placed 44
th overall with a personal-best time of 24:33.91. Ohio's next best finishers were sophomore
Charlie Slates (Gahanna, Ohio), junior
Sam Beeler (Cincinnati, Ohio) and sophomore
Nick Kennedy (Hurricane, W. Va.). Slates finished 101
st with a time of 25:00.78, Beeler finished 108
th with a time of 25:07.22 and Kennedy finished 130
th with a time of 25:18.99.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Muncie, Ind. on Saturday, Nov. 2.
