
Ohio Men's Golf Finishes Round 1 of MAC Play Tied for Fourth

ATHENS, AL. -- After a windy afternoon yesterday (4/30), the Ohio Bobcats completed round 1 of the Mid-American Conference Golf Championships. Shooting a 294, the Bobcats stand in 4th place tied with Kent State entering round 2 of championship play.
Head Coach Brennan Whitis comments after day one, "yesterday was good, we are three shots out of first place. Which is a position we really haven't been in a whole lot this year. It will be interesting to see how we handle it today, but all in all we just have to make sure we finish stronger than we did the day before."
The competing golfers for Ohio were Sam Hogan, Matt Daulton, Carson Trafford, Jack Neville, and Will Kates, with Sheil Iyer standing in as the Bobcats substitute. After 18 holes in Alabama, Carson Trafford led the team shooting a 72 and putting him in a tie for 6th place overall. Next for the Bobcats was Sam Hogan tied for 9th place with a score of 73. Will Kates ended the day tied in 16th place shooting a 74, followed by Jack Neville standing in 27th for Ohio with a 75. score. Matt Daulton finished up for the Bobcats shooting a 76 on day one to put him in 30th overall.
Day two of the MAC tournament will tee off at 8 am (5/1) and will be broadcasted on ESPN+ at 12:30 pm EST.
