
Ohio Men's Golf Closes out the Robert Kepler Invitational in 14th Place

COLUMBUS, OH-- The Ohio Men's Golf team competed in the Robert Kepler Invitational this past weekend (4/21- 4/23), placing 14th overall against several ranked teams. The three day tournament was hosted by the Ohio State Buckeyes at the Scarlet Course. The Bobcats finished out the tournament with a final score of 903 (+51), shooting a 300 in round one, a 299 in round two, and closing out in round three with a 304.
Other teams competing: Abilene Christian, Bowling Green, Butler, Creighton, Dayton, George Mason, Kansas City, Kent State, Miami of Ohio, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Ohio State, Penn State, South Dakota State, Villanova, and Xavier.
The Bobcats were led by Sophomore Matt Daulton (Lebanon, Oh), coming in 35th place overall. Daulton shot a 225 (+12) over the weekend with a 76 in round one, 77 in round two, and a 72 in round three. Next for the Bobcats was Sam Hogan (Burlington, Canada) also coming in 35th place tied with Daulton at a score of 225 (+12). Hogan shot a 68 in round one, 78 in round two, and a 79 in round three. Jack Neville was next with a score of 226 (+13), putting him in 41st place. Will Kates (Centennial, Colorado) followed for Ohio in 72nd finishing the Invitational with a combined score of 233 (+20). Finishing out for the Bobcats was Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio) in 82nd place with a total score of 235 (+22).
Overall, Ohio State took first place in the tournament with a combined score of 854 (+2). Individually, Ben Sluzas from Northern Illinois took first place shooting an impressive 211 (-2).

The Ohio men's golf team will host the Mid American Conference Tournament in Athens, Alabama. The tournament will take place from April 30th- May 2nd and the Bobcats will be competing for a shot at the NCAA tournament.
