MIAMI, Ohio – The Ohio track and field team begin its outdoor season today at the Blizzard Buster, hosted by Miami (Ohio).
In the 1500m, freshman Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) ran a competitive race, placing seventh overall. Doughman clocked a 4:45.88, while junior Kenna Loveless (Tallmadge, Ohio) finished third in her heat with a 4:46.71.
Senior Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) ran a 10:18.38 in the 3000m, taking ninth overall. Sophomore Sarah Liederbach (Petoskey, Mich.) ran a 10:24.58 in her heat, placing second, while junior Bailey Roberts (North Kingsville, Ohio) ran a 10:32.93 for fourth. Freshman Jenna Razavi (Medina, Ohio) and sophomore Avril Moyer (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) also competed running a 10:47.93 and 10:54.03.
In the field events, fifth year Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio), junior Jordan Baith (Seville, Ohio), and sophomore Millie Ryan (Vincnet, Ohio) competed in four events. In the shot put, Mohan threw a 11.40m, while Ryan threw a 11.27m and Baith threw a 10.72m.
In the discus, Mohan came in fourth with a throw of 41.09m. Baith finished seventh with a 38.56m and Ryan threw a 36.80m. Mohan placed seventh in the hammer with a 45.13m, while Baith and Ryan threw a 41.17m and 37.19m.
All three throwers recorded PR's in the javelin with Baith in sixth, throwing 26.01m. Mohan followed in eighth with a 25.54m and Ryan threw a 21.85m.
Up next, the Bobcats will travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State. The event will begin on March 23.
