RALEIGH, N.C. – The Ohio women's track & field team wrapped up the weekend at the Raleigh Relays Saturday (March 28) at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility on the campus of NC State. The Bobcats concluded the day with a handful of personal best finishes.
Three Bobcats set personal bests in the women's 800m to begin Saturday at the Raleigh Relays. Junior Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) led the way with a time of 2:09.36, placing 31st in the event. Senior Sophie Besett (Twinsburg, Ohio) and junior Elinor Shuttleworth (Beavercreek, Ohio) also set personal bests in the event, with Besett running a 2:10.52 and Shuttleworth a 2:14.86.
Sophomore Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio) led Ohio in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.54, placing 24th in the event. Sophomore Elisabeth Francyzk (Washington, Pa.) and freshman Zoey Caldwell also competed, with Francyzk recording a 1:07.34 and Caldwell a 1:13.90.
In the women's 200m, Ohio was led by two freshmen, Alyvia Mentlow and Sydney Huckstep. Mentlow came in 22nd place with a time of 24.37, and Huckstep placed 34th with a 24.69. Senior Ashley Long (Hilliard, Ohio) set a personal best in the event with a time of 25.42.
Up next, the Bobcats return to Athens on Friday, April 3 to host the annual Cherry Blossom Invitational. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m. ET at Goldsberry Track.
