BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Ohio cross country teams competed in the Coaching Tree Invitational on Friday (Sept. 16), hosted by Indiana University. The women finished ninth in the 6k while the men took eighth in the 8k.
Leading the women's team was freshman Leila Boussedra with a time of 21:07.5. In her 6k debut, Boussedra clocked the fifth fastest time in program history and the fastest freshman time. Boussedra finished 23rd and was followed by sophomore Theresa Hagey who placed 39th with a 21:30.5. Other scorers for the Bobcats were freshman Alyssa Mason (21:34.3), fifth year Madelyn Bartolone (21:44.9) and freshman Allie Martin (21:56.3)
The men's team was led by junior Wendesen King who clocked a 24:53.0 and placed 32nd. Graduate student Ethan Frisone recorded a time of 25:12.6 to secure another top-50 finish for Ohio. Freshman Rocco DeVincent (25:48.0), junior Tony Tonkovich (25:53.7), and junior Cooper Mullen (26:04.9) also contributed to the Bobcats score.
Up next, Ohio will participate in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University on Sept. 30.
