ATHENS, Ohio -- It's the first week of classes for the Bobcats and that means it's the first home event of the season. Field hockey kicks off the 2022-23 home slate for the Bobcats, while volleyball opens the regular season and soccer heads to Marshall. All that and more in this week's Paw Prints.

Ohio volleyball opens the 2022 season on Saturday when they head to Lexington, Ky. to take on Marquette and No. 11 Kentucky. The Bobcats open the season on Saturday, Aug. 27 against Marquette. First serve is set for 4 p.m. inside Memorial Coliseum. Ohio is back on the court on Sunday, Aug. 28 against 11th-ranked Kentucky. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. inside Memorial Coliseum and will be aired on the SEC Network.

Ohio field hockey opens the 2022 regular season on Sunday, Aug. 28 when they host Cal. First touch is set for Noon ET at Pruitt Field.

Admission is free and the first 50 students will be gifted a free t-shirt.

After a successful opening weekend that saw Ohio (0-1-1) battle the No. 24 ranked Xavier to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night, the Bobcats return to the pitch on Sunday, Aug. 28 when they head to Huntington, W. Va. to take on Marshall. First touch is set for 7 p.m. at Hoops Family Field.
