Colin Kasperbauer earned First Team All-MAC honors, senior
Mason Minzey earned Second-Team All-MAC honors and fifth year
Edward Kutt IV earned a spot on the All-MAC Defensive Team.
This is the first time Kasperbauer (Sioux City, Iowa) has earned a spot on an All-MAC team. The third baseman started in all 36 conference games, hitting .372 with 51 hits in 137 at-bats. With a .584 slugging percentage, he registered 15 doubles, four triples and two home runs on the season, driving in 38 runs while scoring 40 times himself. In conference play, Kasperbauer led the team in batting average, runs scored, hits, doubles, triples, and on-base percentage (.451).
This is the first selection for Minzey (Grand Blanc, Mich.) to an All-MAC team. In MAC play, the catcher finished with a .326 average, recording 42 hits in 129 at-bats. Minzey hit his first two home runs of the season on March 19 against Kent State-- a two run homer in the first and a solo shot in the sixth-- and ultimately led the team with eight. On the season, he recorded 12 doubles, one triple and eight home runs with 38 RBIs and a team-leading .620 slugging percentage.
This marks Kutt's (Westlake, Calif.) third time earning All-MAC honors and first time on the All-MAC Defensive Team. Kutt started 10 games against MAC opponents, throwing 62.2 innings with one complete game. In 242 at-bats, the right handed pitcher recorded 60 strikeouts while allowing 73 hits. Kutt finished the season with a 4-3 conference record and a 1.46 WHIP. In his fifth season with the Bobcats, Kutt broke the program record for career strikeouts; at the conclusion of the regular season, he has 285 career strikeouts.
All three All-MAC honorees and the rest of the Ohio baseball team open play at the 2022 MAC Tournament on Wednesday, May 25. The No. 4 Bobcats will take No. 1 Ball State at 4 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.
