Women's Golf Wraps Up 2nd Round Of Play At MAC Championships

HOLLAND, Ohio – The Ohio women's golf team finished their second round of competition at the 2022 MAC Championships, hosted by Toledo at Stone Oak Country Club on Saturday (April 23). As a team, the Bobcats held steady in 10th place, improving on their team score through 36 holes, shooting a 329 (+41) to put their cumulative score so far at 668 (+92). Kent State held on to their overall lead, with a cumulative team score of 590 (+14)
Catherine Loftus continued to be the top individual Bobcat, shooting an 83 (+11) on Saturday. Her two-day performance of 164 (+20) puts her in a tie for 34th place with 18 holes of competition remaining.
Avery Ovens carded the best second-round Ohio score, shooting a 79 (+7) on the day, a scorecard that included a strong, one under par, effort on the back nine. The sub-80 score by Ovens moved her up into a tie for 42nd.Â
Thanya Arasu, Ashley Flynn, and Alicia Porvasnik carded an 82, 85, and 88 respectively in the second round. Arasu's improvement through the second 18 holes moved her up into a tie for 45th (+25), with Flynn one spot ahead in 44th (+24), while Porvasnik will begin the final round in a tie for 49th (+37).Â
The Bobcats will wrap up play tomorrow, April 24. The first Ohio tee time will be on the 10th hole starting at 9:30 a.m., and Bobcat fans can watch the ESPN3 broadcast starting at noon and continuing through the end of the MAC Championships.
