LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. -- The Ohio women's golf team began their spring schedule this week (Feb. 7-8) by participating in the Mid-American Match Play Challenge, hosted by Bowling Green, at the Royal Lakes golf course in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. The Bobcats finished with a 1-2 record in the three matches they played, picking up a 2-1-2 victory in their match against Western Illinois.
Avery Owens and
Catherine Loftus were victorious in Ohio's matchup against Western Illinois, both winning 3&2.
Alicia Porvasnik and
Sydney Longstreth both played their matches to a tie against their opponents.
In the earlier rounds of the competition, Ohio was defeated by Morehead State (4-0-1) and Ball State (4-1-0). Porvasnik finished with the tie in the Bobcats match against Morehead State, while
Catherine Loftus was able to pick up a 3&2 victory in Ohio's matchup against the Cardinals.
Up Next:
The women's golf team will return to the course in the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, held from Feb. 25-27. The event will be hosted by Western Michigan.
