Ohio Track & Field Wraps Up MACs

KENT, Ohio – The Ohio track & field team concluded its time at the 2022 MAC Indoor Championship on Saturday (Feb. 26) in the Kent State Field House.
Senior Stephanie Pierce (Fairborn, Ohio) earned All-MAC honors with a sixth-place finish in the mile. Pierce ran a personal best of 4:56.38 in today's final. Graduate student Taylor Strnad (Brook Park, Ohio) also secured a podium finish and All-MAC honors. Strnad had a jump of 1.66m in the high jump and tied for fifth place overall.
Fifth year Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) made an appearance again today, running a 9:58.05 in the 3000m. Pierce also ran in the 3k, clocking a 10:18.96.
The 4x400 team of graduate student Abigail Summers (Columbus, Ohio), sophomore Emma Myers (Logan, Ohio), Pierce, and red shirt junior Taniah Stephens (Erie, Pa.) was just shy of a top-eight finish, crossing the finish line in 3:53.78.
In the field finals, freshman Michaela Frey (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), sophomore Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.), senior Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) and freshman Millie Ryan (Vincent, Ohio) represented the Bobcats in their events. Frey had a vault of 3.18m, while McKenzie had a jump of 10.87m in the triple jump. Mohan and Ryan competed in the shot put where they threw 13.35m and 12.72m.
Up next, Ohio will begin its outdoor season at the Blizzard Buster on Mar. 18 in Miami, Ohio.
