Ohio Track & Field Competes in Kent State Tune-Up

KENT, Ohio – The Ohio track & field team competed at the Kent State Collegiate Tune-Up on Saturday (Feb. 19).
In the track events, graduate student Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) picked up a top-two finish in the mile. Bowes finished in 5:01.63 and was followed by junior Alyssa Christian (Newark, Ohio) who placed sixth with a 5:12.65. In the 5k, junior Carina Weaver (Lexington, Ohio) grabbed another second-place finish with a time of 18:15.28. Junior Bailey Roberts (North Kingsville, Ohio) crossed the finish line next for the Bobcats, clocking an 18:32.82 and placing fourth. Sophomore Emma Myers (Logan, Ohio) also received a fourth-place finish after completing the 800m in 2:18.31. Seniors Jocelyn Knauss (Strongsville, Ohio) and Lauren Parrell (Brighton, Mich.) secured two more top-five finishes in the 3k. Knauss crossed the finish line in 10:44.55 while Parrell came in at 10:50.93.
In the field events, senior thrower Autumn Mohan (Chillicothe, Ohio) picked up two additional top-ten finishes for Ohio. Mohan placed seventh in the weight throw with a throw of 16.14m and ninth in the shot put with a throw of 13.26m. Sophomore Emily McKenzie (Dillsburg, Pa.) placed sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 10.75m while junior Kassidy Betzing (Pomeroy, Ohio) finished eighth with a jump of 5.21m in the long jump.
Up next, the Bobcats will head back to Kent, Ohio for the MAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 25 and Feb. 26.
