TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ohio Women's soccer team (8-6-2) defeated Toledo (2-8-6) this evening (Oct. 20th) on the road. The final score of the MAC contest was 4 -1, proving to be an offensive 90 minutes for the Bobcats.
Ohio took control from the start with a goal from Aubrey Rea in the 15th minute of play. Ohio maintained this momentum, carrying a 1-0 lead into halftime with two saves from freshman goalkeeper, Celeste Sloma, to keep the defense strong.
Heading out of halftime, the Bobcats had an early strike from Toledo's Madison Medalle, tying the game at 1-1. Ohio responded quickly to Toledo's goal, retaking the lead in the 50th minute with a goal from Regan Berg, making the score 2-1. Berg continued to be a powerhouse offensively with an assist in the 54th minute to Haley Miller's goal, extending the Bobcat lead to 3-1. Ohio continued to hold strong possession in the second half with several shots from Abby Townsend, Aubrey Rea, and Ella Bianco; however, it was Regan Berg who had the final goal for Ohio in the 84th minute finalizing the score at 4-1.
Ultimately, Ohio defeated the Toledo Rockets offensively by outshooting them 15 to 12 with 9 shots on goal while Toledo had 4. Individually, Regan Berg led the Bobcat's with 6 total shots, and Sloma had 3 saves in goal.

The Ohio Bobcats will return to Chessa Field for their final regular season home matchup this Sunday (Oct.23). Kickoff against Akron is scheduled for 1pm with a small celebration to honor the following seniors: Cailynn Adelman, Olivia Darrow, Ella Bianco, Ellie Ferguson, Regan Berg, Reese Dorsey, and Payton Rigg.
