
Ohio Men's Golf Ties for Second at Wright State Invitational

SPRINGBORO, Ohio -- The Ohio men's golf team achieved its best finish of the 2021 spring season as it closed out the regular season portion of the schedule by tying for second place with Valparaiso with a combined team total score of 886 (+34) at the Wright State Invitational, which was contested over two days (April 18-19) at Heatherwoode Golf Club. The Bobcats tallied round scores of 298 (+14), 296 (+12) and 292 (+8).
Four Bobcats finished in the top-30 of the tournament. Senior Zach Mandry (Solon, Ohio) led the way for Ohio, taking seventh with a 216 (+3) after posting rounds of 73 (+2), 71 (E) and 72 (+1).
Senior Zach Crawford (Vandalia, Ohio) finished 10th with a three-round total of 219 (+6). He followed up rounds of 73 (+2) and 74 (+3) with a final-round 72 (+1).
Senior Tanner Johnson (Venetia, Pa.) carded rounds of 77 (+6), 74 (+3) and 73 (+2) on his way to a three-round total of 224 (+11) and a tie for 17th.
Senior Austin Dyson (Dublin, Ohio) tied for 29th with a 227 (+14). He recorded rounds of 75 (+4), 77 (+6) and 75 (+4).
Ohio now turns its attention to the 2021 Mid-American Conference Championships, which will be contested April 30-May 1 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
