
Ohio Men’s Golf Tees Off Fall Season at the RedHawk Intercollegiate

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Ohio men's golf team opened the 2026-27 season Sept.14-15 in Pittsburgh, Pa. at the RedHawk Intercollegiate, hosted by Miami (Ohio) at the Pittsburgh Field Club. Ohio competed among 14 other teams at the event, tying for 13th place with a score of 880 (+28).
VCU won the event on Tuesday with a score of 837 (-15).
As a team, The Bobcats opened with an opening round score of 294 before improving in round two with a score of 290. They went on to end their performance with a third round score of 296.
Sophomore Rylan Hall (Stratford, Ontario, Canada) led the way for Ohio throughout the tournament, shooting five over par for the week that included a second round 68, which was tied for ninth among all golfers in the second round. That 68 featured an eagle, one of 21 combined eagles across all teams during the week.
Freshman Will Mangas (Upper Arlington, Ohio) had a great debut as a Bobcat, bouncing back from shooting seven over par in the first round by shooting two over par in the second round, and one under par in the third. He finished second on the team in the tournament.
Junior Mikey Schutte (Cincinnati, Ohio) came out of the gates hot in the first round, shooting even par with five birdies. He shot six over par in both the second and third rounds to finish third for the Bobcats for the week.
Sophomore Gabriel Mainella (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada) also started strong in the early rounds of the week, shooting even par in the first round and three over par in the second.
Up next, the Bobcats travel north to compete in the Badger Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin between Sep. 27 and Sep 29.
