BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Ohio women's basketball team (10-6, 8-5 MAC) fell to Bowling Green (14-4, 10-3 MAC), 69-53, on Saturday afternoon at the Stroh Center.

"We will head to campus and try to get better," head coach Bob Boldon said. "We need to do a better job of taking care of the ball and clean up our movement a little bit. The beauty of basketball is you get to play again fairly quickly, so we will try to fix those things and be better by Wednesday."

Ohio was led by redshirt freshman Madi Mace (Parkersburg, W. Va.) and redshirt junior Caitlyn Kroll (Bridgeport, Ohio), who had 13 points each. Kroll was 4-of-9 with one made three-pointer while Mace was 5-of-14 with three shots knocked down from deep.

"Madi has done a fantastic job for us this year and today was no different," Boldon added. We came in struggling to score and she hit some tough shots for us. I am excited for her development."

Senior guard Cece Hooks (Dayton, Ohio) posted 12 points and five rebounds while knocking down six from the free-throw line.

The Bobcats were outrebounded by BG, 38-35. Mace and redshirt junior guard Jasmine Hale (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the way with seven rebounds each. Senior forward Gabby Burris (Baltimore, Ohio), Hooks and Kroll all pulled down five boards. Eight of Ohio's 35 rebounds were on the offensive end. 

Ohio forced 19 turnovers and had 13 steals. Burris, Hooks, Kroll and redshirt junior guard Kaylee Bambule (Plainfield, Ill.) all produced three swipes.

Overall, Ohio shot 18-of-53 (34.0 percent) from the field and 5-of-27 (18.5 percent) from the three-point line. BG was 25-of-59 (42.4 percent) and 10-of-29 (34.5 percent) from deep.

The Bobcats will continue Mid-American Conference play on Wednesday (Feb. 10). Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
