YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The Ohio women's golf team was back in action this week (Oct. 4-5), as they traveled to participate in the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational, hosted by Eastern Michigan at the Eagle Crest Golf Club. As a team, the Bobcats finished in 11th place.
Ohio's first round on Oct. 4 ended with the Bobcats sitting in sole possession of 8th place as a team, with a score of 312 (+24). Catherine Loftus led the charge for Ohio, as she carded a 75 in the first 18 holes, a score that had Loftus tied for 12th individually. The second round of the day on Oct. 4 finished with Ohio in 11th place, following a team score of 325, ending the first day with combined team score of 637 (+61). Loftus continued to lead the Bobcats, as she carded the best scorecard for the second round, shooting a 79. Loftus ended her first day of competition with a score of 154 (+10), tied for 24th place.
On the second and final day of competition, the Bobcats turned in a team score of 319, finishing the tournament at with a total score of 956 (+92). Individually, Ohio was led by Mariana Vega-Rivera in the third round, as she turned in a scorecard of 77 (+5).
