LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Ohio men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday (Oct. 2) at the University of Louisville. The men ran an 8k and the women completed a 5k, where both teams took 16

Josh Park (Amherst, Ohio) set a new school record in the 8k.
In the men's 8000m gold race, Park set the school record with a time of 23:32.4. Finishing eighth, Park topped the previous record by six seconds and shattered his career best of 23:57.9. Park was followed by graduate student
Seth Gard (Eaton, Ohio) and junior
Michael Tonkovich (Athens, Ohio), who recorded their own career-best 8k times. Gard and Tonkovich clocked in at 24:24.9 and 24:34.9.
Senior
Madelyn Bartolone (Massillon, Ohio) led the Bobcats in the women's 5000m gold race with a time of 17:46.6. Bartolone also achieved a career best, beating her previous time of 18:42.9. Sophomore Sophie Hoersten (Hilliard, Ohio) came in next, clocking a time of 18:06.4 for her first 5k as a Bobcat. Graduate student
Hailey Bowes (Arlington Heights, Ill.) finished closely behind Hoersten with a 18:10.8.
Up next, the Bobcats will head to University Park, Pa. to compete in the Penn State National Open on Oct.15.
