Day One PDF Results
YORKTOWN, Ind. â After the first day of competition, Ohio womenâs golf senior Hailey Hrynewich currently sits in third place at the 2016 Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State. Her strong first day has helped the Ohio womenâs golf team finish the first day of competition in ninth place after shooting a first round score of 308 and then followed it up with a second round total of 301 to finish the day +33 (609).
Leading Ohio is Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) who currently sits in third place after a strong day. Hrynewich opened competition by shooting a 70 in round one and then followed it up with a 73 in the second round, finishing the day with a two-round total of 143 (-1).
Up next for the Bobcats is sophomore Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) who opened the day with a 78 in the first round and then finished the day by shooting a 75 to finish the day with a total score of 153 (+9), which currently ties her for 34th place.
Freshman Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) began the day by shooting a first round score of 81. Balish finished the day string by shooting a 75, giving her a first day total of 156 (+12) which has her tied for 51st place.
Junior Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) currently sits tied for 58th place after shooting a 79 in both the first and second rounds, giving her a day one total of 158 (+14).
Rounding out the Bobcat five is sophomore Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) who finished the day tied for 66th place. Hughes opened the competition with a first round score of 82, and then followed it up with a second round of 78, Hughes finished the first day of competition at +16 (160).
Senior Emily Cunningham (Winston, Ga.), who entered the day playing unattached, currently sits tied for 43rd place after starting the day with a first round score of 80. Cunningham then followed it up in the second round by shooting a 75, giving her a first day total of 155 (+11).
Ohio wraps up action at the 2016 Cardinal Classic tomorrow (Sept. 20) with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
