NOBLESVILLE, Ind. â€" After day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships, the Ohio women’s golf team sits in seventh place after one round of play. On Friday (April 22) the Bobcats finished the day +13 after shooting a 307 at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.
After day one, Toledo leads the pack after shooting a 289 (+1) in the first round.
Leading the Bobcats is freshman Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) who is currently tied for seventh place after shooting a 73, her lowest round of the season, to finish +1 on the day.
Junior Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) is next for the Bobcats, finishing the day tied for 13th place after shooting a 74 (+2) to wrap up the first round.
Senior Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio) and sophomore Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) both finished the day tied for 33rd after registering a round one score of 77 to finish the day +5.
Rounding out the Bobcats’ starting five is senior Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio) who wrapped up day one in 46th place after finishing day one +10 (82).
The Bobcats return to action for the second day of the 2016 MAC Championships Saturday, April 23 with the second round set to begin at 8 a.m.
