KETTERING, Ohio â The Ohio womenâs golf team finished the 2016 Dayton Flyer Invitational in fifth place after shooting a second round score of 307. The round gave the Bobcats a two-day total of 620 (+60). Hailey Hrynewich led the Bobcats individually, finishing tied for third place.
Findlay won this yearâs tournament, finishing with a total score of 589 (+29).
Leading the Bobcats was Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.), who finished tied for third place after shooting a 72 on Tuesday (Oct. 18). The 72 gave Hrynewich a tournament total of 148 and helped her finish +8. The third place finish is Hrynewichâs fourth top-five finish of the season.
Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) finished the tournament tied for 14th place after finishing the second round with a 75. This gave her a two-day total of 153 (+13).
With a 77 on Tuesday, Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) finished the tournament with a total score of 158, helping her finish +18 and tied for 28th place.
Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) finished the second round by shooting an 83, giving her a two-day total of 161 (+21) and helping her finish tied for 43rd place.
Rounding out the Bobcats' scoring five was Jessica McRae (Medina, Ohio), who ended the day with an 84, giving her a tournament total of 171 (+31) and tying her for 69th place.
Competing unattached for the Bobcats was Hannah Travis (Lancaster, Ohio), who shot an 85 on Tuesday, giving her a two-round total of 168 (+28) and tying her in 63rd place.
The Bobcats wrap up the fall slate next week when they head to Silver Lake, Ohio on Monday, Oct. 24 for the 2016 Fall Preview.
