SILVER LAKE, Ohio â After day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships, the Ohio womenâs golf team is tied for second place after one round of play. On Friday (April 21) the Bobcats and the Huskies of Northern Illinois finished the day +16 after shooting a 304 at the Silver Lake Country Club in Silver Lake, Ohio.
After day one, Kent State leads the pack after shooting a 289 (+1) in the first round.
Leading the Bobcats are senior Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) and sophomore Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) who are currently tied for seventh place after shooting a 75 to finish +3 on the day.
Junior Lily Pendy (Grosse Point Farms, Mich.) and sophomore Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio) are next for the Bobcats, finishing the day tied for 13th place after shooting a 77 (+5) to wrap up the first round.
Rounding out the Bobcats starting five is freshman Marissa Balish (Allison Park, Pa.) who wrapped up day one in tied for 23rd place after finishing day one +7 (79).
The Bobcats return to action for the second day of the 2017 MAC Championships Saturday, April 22 with the second round set to begin at 8 a.m.
