YORKTOWN, Ind. â€" The Ohio women’s golf team finished the first day of the 2015 Cardinal Classic in eighth place after shooting a 307 in both the first and second round for a day one total of 314 (+38).
Eastern Kentucky leads after the first day of competition with a day one total of 572 (-4).
Leading the squad is senior Angela Codian (Massillon, Ohio), who finished the first day tied for 28th place after shooting a 74 in round one and a 78 in the second round to finish +8 (152).
Next was sophomore Lily Pendy (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.), who shot a 77 in round one and a 76 in the second round to finish with a day one total of 153 (+9) and tied for 28th place. Junior Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) finished day one tied for 30th place after shooting a first round score of 78 and a second round total of 76 for a total of 154 (+10)
Freshman Emily Hughes (Columbus, Ohio) finished the day tied for 35th place after shooting a first round score of 78 and a second round total of 77 to finish +11 (155).
Rounding out the Bobcat five is freshman Nicole Smiley (Dublin, Ohio), who finished the day tied for 55th place. Smiley shot an 81 in the first round and a 78 in the second round to finish with a total of 159 (+11).
The Bobcats wrap up play at the Cardinal Classic tomorrow (Sept. 22) morning with an 18-hole, 9 a.m. shotgun start.
