UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Ohio University women's golf team sits in a tie for 11th place after 36 holes of action at the Nittany Lion Invitational in University Park, Pa.
The Bobcats have compiled a combined score of 614 (305-309, +38) after two rounds of action. On Saturday, Ohio fell from seventh to t-11th after firing a 309 (+21).
Kent State leads the tournament with a six-over par 582, while a pair of Flashes (Josee Doyon, Jennifer Ha) lead the individual battle with matching scores of 142 (-2).
Freshman Hailey Hrynewich (Muskegon, Mich.) continues to set the tone for Ohio and is tied for 14th place with a combined score of 149 (+5). Hrynewich carded a five-over par 77 in round two and made a birdie on the difficult par-3 eighth hole.
Senior Kristen Helmsdoerfer (Westerville, Ohio) matched Hrynewich's 77 and is tied for 28th after round two. Helmsdoerfer has notched a 36-hole total of 153 (+9).
Junior Julie Lechner (Powell, Ohio) is tied for 39th after a round two score of 79. Lechner moved has posted a two-day total of 157 (+13) on the PSU Course.
Senior Kara Brinkmann (86-76) and sophomore Angela Codian (79-83) are each tied for 74th place with a combined score of 162 (+18). Brinkmann posted Ohio's best score of round two (+4) and made birdies on holes No. 1 and No. 10.
Rounding out the Ohio squad was sophomore Lauren McKinzie (Medina, Ohio), who is tied for 79th (80-84, +20) after carding a combined 164 over the first two rounds.
The Bobcats wrap up the tournament with final round action Sunday in University Park, Pa.
