The Ohio University baseball team returns to the diamond at 4 p.m. on Friday for the first of a four-game series with IPFW at Bob Wren Stadium.
NOTING THE BOBCATS
-Ohio's Earned Run Average of 3.18 is the best in the Mid-American Conference.
-Ohio has four players which are batting .300-or better.
-The Bobcats are batting .317 as a team in their last five games and have outscored their opponents by a count of 40-37.
-Ohio is batting .283 with two outs.
-The Bobcats are 4-0 when leading after seven innings.
-Senior Jensen Painter drilled his team-best fourth home run on the year on Sunday afternoon against Oakland in the series finale.
-Painter also leads the team in slugging percentage (.698), on base percentage (.462), runs scored (10), RBI (14), hits (19), doubles (6), total bases (37) and walks (11).
-With runners in scoring position, Painter is batting a team-best .500 (7-for-14). -Jake Madsen leads all freshman with 19 hits on the year.
-Eight of Madsen's hits have come with two outs.
-Senior captain Ethan Newton has a team-best six stolen bases. He also leads the team with 10 runs scored.
-Senior pitcher Brent Choban leads the team with a 1.69 ERA. He has also thrown a team-best 26.2 innings. Choban will start on Friday.
-Senior Jason Moulton leads the team with 17 strikeouts.
-Ohio newcomers have combined to make 41 starts this season.
-The Bobcats has lost three games by just one run and three games by three runs.

SERIES INFORMATION
Ohio will faceoff against IPFW for the ninth time in school history on Friday. The Bobcats last met the Mastodons in 2005. In that series, IPFW took two out of three games from the Bobcats at Bob Wren Stadium. Ohio leads the all-time series with a 6-2 mark.
THE SCOUT ON IPFW
The Mastodons come into the four-game series against Ohio with a 3-10 mark with wins at Alabama A&M, at Southeast Missouri State and at Butler. Carter DeBoe - the Summit League Baseball Player of the Week - DeBoe leads the team in doubles (5), home runs (2) and RBI (10). Malcolm White leads the team with a .325 batting average. His on-base percentage of .473 is also tops on the team. On the mound, Travis Reboulet leads the team with a 3.20 ERA. Jason Kalber has been on the mound for each IPFW win this season (3-1). He leads the team in strikeouts with 28.
