ATHENS, Ohio - Freshman Kara Brinkmann shot a second-round 76 to lead all Bobcat golfers on Saturday at the University of Cincinnati's Spring Invitational from the Plantation Golf Resort in Crystal River, Florida.
Megan Weaver and Erin Cahill each have identical scores of 155 after two rounds and are tied for 42nd in the 121-player field. Sarah Tranelli is third among the Bobcats after shooting an 81, while Jordan Fesh is fourth after firing an 83.
The `Cats are 13th overall, five strokes out of the top 10. Morehead State's lead was trimmed to two shots by North Texas who led all teams with a second-round 292. Florida Southern (597) and Stetson (599) are each within 10 strokes and Campbell (602) rounds out the top five.
Florida Southern's Marianne Andersson moved into a tie for the individual lead with Stetson's Alex Buelow, one shot ahead of yesterday's leader, Morehead State's Paige Lausier, who slipped back to third. Florida Gulf Coast's Briana Carlson is tied for fourth with Seminole State Community College's Elia Folch, two shots off the overall lead.
Third-round play will begin with a shotgun start on Sunday.
