NASHPORT, Ohio - After the first two rounds of play at the 2010 MAC Fall Preview Monday, the Ohio women's golf team is in third place, just four strokes back of the top spot with a score of 312.
Leading the way for the Bobcats were the Weaver sisters as the Megan and Meryl duo (Canton, Ohio) finished tied for ninth with equal scores of 77 after the two rounds. Jordan Fesh (Toledo, Ohio) and Kara Brinkman (Middletown, Ohio) finished close behind tied for 16th with scores of 79 each, while Sarah Trenelli (Penfield, N.Y.) finished tied for 34th with a score of 84.
Western Michigan and Akron currently stand at first and second place with overall scores of 308 and 309 respectively. Akron's Hannah Ek leads the event, currently at -1 under par with a 71 overall, while Western's Brittany Hamilton and Kaylee Imel stand tied at fourth place with equal scores of 75.
Eastern Michigan currently sits at fourth place with a score of 320, while Toledo and Ball State finished tied for fifth with 321. Xavier finished 7th with a 324, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois finished tied for eight with a 338, and Cleveland State rounded out the list at tenth place with a 349.
Final-round action is set to begin Tuesday morning at the Longaberger Golf Club.
