ATHENS, Ohio - The Bobcats played 110 minutes of soccer on Sunday afternoon, but neither Ohio (0-1-1) or the opposing Bonnies of St. Bonaventure (1-0-1) could find the back of the net.
Ohio keeper Jess MacLean (Loveland) recorded four saves in her second start in as many games and the Ohio offense once again kept the pressure on their opponents with 16 shots, 10 on goal.
But unfortunately, the opposing keeper was once again up to the challenge. Like in Friday's season opening loss to DePaul, despite almost double the shot attempts as their opponent, the Bobcats were kept off the scoreboard.
"Ties are tough, especially when we dominate a team," said head coach Stacy Strauss. "But our play today was a significant step forward from our game on Friday."

St. Bonaventure's freshman goalie Amanda Prestigiacomo recorded 10 saves in just the second game of her collegiate career and her second consecutive shutout.
Almost every Bobcat took at least one attempt against Prestigiacomo, but none could sneak one past the Rochester, N.Y., native.
"Our best chances were either right at her or missed the goal," Strauss said. "It was frustrating in that regard but our defense and possession was much improved from Friday."
Senior captain Callie Broomfield (Bay Village) led all Ohio players in shots with three but five others finished with two attempts each. Sophomore Amy Lower (West Chester) and senior Danielle Young (Mason) had both of their shot attempts saved by Prestigiacomo.
St. Bonaventure was held to half as many shots as the Bobcats. Freshman forward Courtney Bosse took four of her team's eight total shots, placing three on goal. The Bonnies' draw against Ohio came two days after winning their season opener 3-0 against the hosts of the Cleveland State Fall Classic, the CSU Vikings.
The Sunday afternoon contest was the second of the season for the Bobcats and their second game at the inaugural CSU Fall Classic. Ohio comes home for its next game, Wednesday evening against Louisville at Chessa Field. The contest against the Cardinals is set to kickoff at 4 p.m.
