Joshua Gose joined the Ohio women's track & field staff as an assistant coach, specializing in throws, in August 2025.Â
Gose comes to Ohio after spending just under a year as the graduate assistant at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. At Slippery Rock, he coached alongside volunteer throws coaches Jim and Judy Geist. He led a women’s throws group that significantly contributed to an indoor and outdoor conference championship. Gose coached athletes to All-PSAC finishes in the men’s and women’s discus, shot put, weight throw and the men’s hammer throw. He also trained three NCAA DII national qualifiers.

Prior to coaching at Slippery Rock, Gose also coached on the high school and middle school level in Lewisburg, Pa.

Gose attended Slippery Rock, where he was a four-year member of the men’s track & field. As a student-athlete, he was a two-time PSAC top 10 finisher, eight-time USTFCCCA All-Region honoree, eight-time All-PSAC, PSAC champion and 2024 NCAA DII national qualifier. Gose was also a two-time CSC Academic All-American, 2024 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Champion Scholar and 2025 PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Champion Scholar.

Gose earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and economics and a master’s degree in business administration from Slippery Rock.
