Prior to Ohio: Signed to play basketball at Shawnee State out of high school...prepped at Danville High School where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball... All-State honorable mention in basketball...scored 1,090 total points...third team All-Ohio in football as a junior and special mention All-Ohio as a senior..First Team All-District and All-Conference in both football and basketball as a junior and senior...held the area scoring record in basketball as a senior. 

Personal: Born May 13, 1995...son of Susan and Dennis Payne...sister Tracy played women’s basketball at Walsh from 2010-13.
