INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Ohio volleyball team (3-1, 0-0 MAC) fell 3-0 (24-26, 21-25, 22-25) at IU Indy (2-2, 0-0 Horizon) on Thursday, Sept. 3.

Ohio finished with 39 kills, four aces, four blocks, 37 assists and 23 digs. IU Indy finished with 42 kills, nine aces, two blocks, 38 assists and 28 digs. The Bobcats recorded a .302 hitting percentage while the Jaguars finished with a .329 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Bailey Blair (Louisville, Ky.) led Ohio in kills (13) and digs (4). Senior Torre Kildow (Bethesda, Ohio) added nine kills and one ace. Senior Olivia Gardner (Macomb, Mich.) finished with a team-high two blocks in addition to six kills. Freshman Rowan Kelly (Akron, Ohio) led the team in assists with 20 total. Senior Gentry Brown (Shadyside, Ohio) added three digs and one block.

IU Indy earned an early 1-0 lead with a 26-24 win in the first set. It was a close competition until the Jaguars pulled away with a 19-14 lead. Ohio responded with three-straight points, cutting IU Indy's lead to 20-19. The two teams continued to trade points back-and-forth. With the teams tied at 24-24, a kill and an ace by IU Indy secured the first set for the Jaguars.

IU Indy won the second set, 25-21, extending its lead to 2-0 over Ohio. It was another close one with the two teams being tied for a large part of the set. The Jaguars pulled away from the Bobcats, 19-15, with five-straight points. Ohio fought hard and cut IU Indy's lead to 20-19. Despite the Bobcats' efforts, the Jaguars were still able to claim the set and take the 2-0 lead.

IU Indy went on to take the match, 3-0, with a 25-22 win in the third and final set.

The Bobcats will be back in action when they face Youngstown State on Friday, Sept. 4 at 1 p.m. ET. The game will be played at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. as part of the Indy Invite. The game will be available to watch on YouTube.
