
Ohio Baseball Falls in Midweek Matchup Against Morehead State

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio baseball team (9-39, 6-21 MAC) fell 5-1 to Morehead State (25-23, 9-12 OVC) on Wednesday, May 6.

The Bobcats recorded one run, four hits and one error. The Eagles recorded five runs, six hits and one error.

With two stolen bases on the day, junior Tyler Stack (Oswego, Ill). broke the single-season program record with a total of 26 stolen bases this season.

Four different Bobcats recorded a hit for Ohio. Among those four Bobcats was senior Dylan Shepherd (Barrie, Ontario), who also scored Ohio's lone run. As a pinch hitter in the ninth, redshirt sophomore Max Palinski (Gates Mills, Ohio) finished 1-for-1 at the plate with a double.

Sophomore Luke Bryant (Ashland, Ohio) started on the mound for Ohio. Bryant was replaced by senior Landon Price (Middle Point, Ohio) in the top of the second. Price recorded one strikeout and allowed one hit in 3.1 innings pitched.

In the first inning, Morehead State took an early 3-0 lead. The Eagles extended their lead to 5-0 with two more runs in the top of the second.

The Bobcats scored one run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Redshirt junior Cam Bryant (Miamisburg, Ohio) put the ball in play. Before getting put out at first, Shepherd was able to score. At the end of the seventh, Ohio trailed Morehead State 5-1.

The score would hold for the remainder of the game with the Bobcats ultimately falling to the Eagles, 5-1.
