LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Ohio women's track & field concluded competition at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on Saturday, April 25.
Ohio kicked off day three of competition with the women's 1500m. Senior
Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) placed third in her section with a time of 4:29.86. Senior
Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) raced in the same section, finishing seventh with a time of 4:38.66. Senior
Morgan Roth (Brunswick, Ohio) took home ninth place in her section with a time of 4:40.24.
The Bobcats competed in several running events with top performers in the women's 3000m steeplechase, 100m hurdles, 400m and 100m.
Sophomore
Mairin O'Brien led Ohio in the women's 3000m steeplechase, placing fourth overall with a time of 10:57.02.
Freshmen
Zoey Caldwell and
Alyvia Mentlow were top performers for Ohio in the women's 100m hurdles and 100m. In the 100m hurdles, Caldwell recorded a time of 14.40 (+2.5w). Meanwhile, Mentlow placed in the top 20 of the women's 100m with a time of 11.91.
Two Bobcats placed in the top 20 of the women's 400m. Junior
Jada Irwin (Fairfield, Ohio) placed seventh with a time of 55.17. Freshman
Sydney Huckstep ran a time of 56.02, finishing in 16
th place.
In the field events, freshman
Kewogo Bendick led Ohio in the women's triple jump. Bendick placed 18
th with a mark of 11.64 meters (38-2.25). Sophomore
Lauren Mader earned a top 10 finish in the women's discus throw, throwing a distance of 45.91 meters (150-7).
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Jesse Owens Classic on Friday, May 1.
