Ohio Women's Golf Prepared for 2026 MAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio – The Ohio Women's Golf team, along with nine other programs, is set to compete in the 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Women's Golf Championships beginning Sunday, April 26. The three-day competition will be held at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, hosted by Kent State, starting at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning, and will conclude on Tuesday afternoon (April 28).

The par-70 course spans 6137 yards, with the opening nine holes outlining the South Course, and the back nine going along the west side of the club. The course features generous landing areas, well-placed bunkers, and subtly breaking greens that require thoughtful precision at every hole.

Ohio enters the championship playing a tough spring schedule, facing nationally ranked teams/golfers, with the team's highest finish being at the UNCW River Landing Classic, placing sixth.

The Bobcat Golfers

Luebbers enters the MAC Championship following an impressive junior campaign, highlighted by a tournament win at the Brittany Kelly Classic. Luebbers finished as the top Bobcat in four events this season. Her efforts helped the Bobcats take the first-place finish at the Rocket Class in the fall. Luebbers is set to make her third appearance in the MAC Championships.

McRee makes her final appearance at the MAC Championships. McRee is coming off a strong senior season, where she was the top Bobcat performer in three tournaments, including a tied fourth-place finish at the White Sands Invitational, while also placing in the top ten multiple times.

Rodgers is set to compete in another MAC Championship after coming off a hot spring season. Rodgers has competed in every tournament for the Bobcats this season, including being the top finisher at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge. Rodgers has been a consistent piece of the Bobcats' lineup all season and looks to showcase her consistency this upcoming week.

Turner returns to the MAC Championship for the second consecutive season. Turner was the top Bobcat in two events, including a tied 15th finish at the Georgia State Invitational. Turner looks to continue her strong sophomore season at the championships.

Treherne looks to compete at the MAC Championships for the first time in her career, after coming off a strong rookie season. Treherne looks to have an impressive outing in her first conference championships, after finishing with her highest finish of T66 at the Georgia State Invitational.

Rounding out the roster as the substitute, Wharff, who is coming off a career high finish at the ODU NC4K Classic, tied for tenth place. If called upon, Wharff will look to build off her last performance to compete for the Bobcats.

Last Year at MACs

As a team, Ohio finished in sixth place out of 10 MAC competitors while playing at the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Indiana, hosted by Ball State. Rodgers, McRee, and Luebbers led the Bobcats efforts, all placing tied for 18th, with an overall score of 229 (+13).
