
Ohio Women’s Track & Field Concludes First Two Days of Competition at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Ohio women's track & field concluded its second day of competition at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on Friday, April 24.
Thursday Recap
Two Bobcats competed in the women's hammer throw. Freshman Aubree Beery (Lancaster, Ohio) took home fifth place with a mark of 50.91 meters (167-0). Sophomore Ashley Cornathan (Hilliard, Ohio) finished 15th with a mark of 44.33 meters (145-5).
Friday Recap
The second day of competition was highlighted by freshman Alyvia Mentlow's performance in the women's 200m. Mentlow's time of 24.17 is the fourth-fastest outdoor time in program history. Junior Jada Irwin (Fairfield, Ohio) also recorded a solid performance in the women's 200m with a time of 24.34.
The Bobcats kicked off the day with the women's long jump. Freshman Kewogo Bendick led Ohio with a mark of 5.65 meters (18-6.50), finishing 15th overall. Senior Jasmine Correa (Holland, Mich.) was Ohio's top performer in the women's shot put, placing ninth with a mark of 12.76 meters (41-10.50).
Senior Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio) took home sixth place in the women's 800m with a time of 2:13.18.
Freshman Zoey Caldwell and sophomore Elisabeth Franczyk (Washington, Pa.) both PR'd in the women's 400m hurdles. Caldwell recorded a time of 1:04.44 and Franczyk finished two spots behind her with a time of 1:04.52.
Ohio concluded the day with the women's 5,000 meters. Junior Eliza Streit (Plain City, Ohio) and sophomore Sophie Lane (Hilliard, Ohio) crossed the finish line in eighth and ninth place, respectively. Streit recorded a time of 18:09.91 and Lane ran a time of 18:21.71.
The Bobcats will be back in action for day three of the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on Saturday, April 25.
