ATHENS, Ohio— Former Ohio football tight end Will Kacmarek was drafted in the third round as the 87th overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins (April 24). This marks the second consecutive year former Bobcats were drafted, with Ohio alumnus Kurtis Rourke going to the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Kacmarek (St. Louis, Mo.) appeared in 29 games from 2021-23 for Ohio, tallying 13 starts. Logging 42 total receptions, he found the end zone twice. Notably, Kacmarek snagged three receptions for 44 yards against Central Michigan in 2023.
Following the 2023 season, Kacmarek transferred to Ohio State, appearing in 26 games and amassing 253 yards and two touchdowns on 23 catches. His performance during the 2025 season earned him an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference nod and he was named an OSU Scholar-Athlete in 2024.
