DUBLIN, OHIO – The Ohio Men's Golf team wrapped up regular season competition at The Muirfield Shootout on Monday (April 20). The one-day event was hosted by Miami University at The Country Club of Muirfield in Dublin, Ohio.
As a team, the Bobcats finished tied for eighth in the 36-hole competition with a score of +25. Kent State won this year's event with a score of +4, followed by Michigan State at +4
Leading Ohio again on Monday was senior
Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) who shot rounds of 73 and 74 to finish with 147 (+3), good for a tie for 18
th. This marks Gray Lamont's second top-20 of the spring. He carded six birdies in the first round and three in the second round at the par-72 course.
Following for the Bobcats was senior
Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio), who shot consecutive rounds of 75 for a six-over par 150 and T-33 finish.
Next for the Bobcats was freshman
Rylan Hall (Stratford, Ontario), who rebounded from a first round 80 with a second round 74 for a total of 154 (+10), tying for 48
th. Hall's day was highlighted by an eagle on his final hole of the day, the 500-yard par five 17
th at The Country Club of Muirfield.
Fellow freshman
Jack Flores (Worthington, Ohio) also finished T-48 with a score of 154, shooting a first round 74 and second round 80.
Senior
Will Kates (Centennial, Co) shot a first round 76 and second round 81 for a total of 157 (+13), finishing 65
th. Kates' day was highlighted by an eagle two on the par four 12
th hole in his first round.
Fellow senior
Jack O'Donnell (Powell, Ohio), shot a first round 79 followed by a second round 87, for a total score of 166, finishing 76
th.
